Bodywork that's more than skin deep

Massage therapy is just one part of a healing regimen. Yoga or daily stretching and breathing exercises are key elements in preventing injury, reducing stress and maintaining overall health. They extend the benefits of massage treatments! A balanced diet, exercise, plenty of water and laughter are also important aspects in a healthy lifestyle.

Traditional Thai Massage

Thai massage is increasing in popularity in Portland, Oregon.  More and more people are beginning to request this ancient form of bodywork and more therapists are wishing to master this art form!  The benefits are numerous but Thai massage generally stretches you deeply and helps to relieve stress and anxiety.   It is more energizing and rigorous than most other forms of massage therapy but it's a thorough therapy that helps to lengthen all of your muscles from your toes to your ears.  I have a client who says he needs to adjust the mirrors on his vehicle after a 90 minute session.

I use my hands, knees, legs, and feet to move you into a series of yoga-like postures and stretches.  Some say that Thai massage is like doing yoga without doing any of the work. Hence the nickname, "the lazy man's yoga".  No oil is applied, so you are fully dressed during the session on a thick comfortable mat. A single Thai massage session will help you release stress and relieve pain, and help you function more effectively at work and at home.

Personally, it's my favorite modality to receive.  After a session, I feel taller, lighter and so relaxed.  If you haven't tried a Thai massage, call and book an appointment with me and I'll give you $10 off 90 minutes and $20 off 120 minutes.
